In the study Effect of Psychopathology in Terrorist Crimes by the NIFP, based on pro justitia reports from experts, it was investigated how the psychopathology present had an effect on the alleged terrorist offense.
The results show that in more than half of the research group, consisting of 26 people who were suspected of a terrorist offense and for whom a forensic examination of the mental health was present, the expert made a clear link with the terrorist offense or the run-up to it.
